Perinaldo in three videos: village, Cassini museum and artichokes

A Borghi d’Italia portrait, a visit inside the Cassini museum and a grower-led look at Perinaldo’s violet artichoke.

This 27-minute Borghi d’Italia episode, also linked from the Comune’s own site, gives the widest introduction to Perinaldo. It visits the historic centre, the parish church, Sant’Antonio, the observatory and museum, and includes local voices and food. The sequence makes the relationship between the ridge-top village, Cassini’s scientific legacy and local agriculture easy to follow. It is a recorded programme rather than current visitor information, so use the municipality and observatory calendars to check access and opening dates.

This short Il Secolo XIX segment takes viewers into the Cassini museum, with its manager explaining key discoveries and the mayor placing the displays in the context of Perinaldo’s cultural life. At just over three minutes, it works as a focused preview of the scientific collection rather than a full history of Cassini or the observatory. The museum’s displays and access arrangements may have changed since filming in 2018; confirm current hours before visiting.

Local grower Francesco Guglielmi introduces Perinaldo’s distinctive violet artichoke and explains how it differs from other varieties. The video adds a working-food perspective to the village and museum portraits, connecting a local crop with the landscape and its De.C.O. production identity. It was published in 2024 and is useful for understanding why the artichoke matters here, but it is not a directory of current producers, seasonal stock or opening hours.
