Ansty, Warwickshire: canal-side history near Coventry
Ansty is a village and civil parish in Rugby borough, Warwickshire, about 5 miles north-east of Coventry. Its early history reaches back at least to the Anglo-Saxon period, and later the village grew beside the Oxford Canal, completed here in the 18th century. In more recent times Ansty became associated with engineering and aviation industry through Armstrong Siddeley and later Rolls-Royce.
