Carlton Scroop: a Lincolnshire village with Norman roots and medieval glass

Carlton Scroop is a small village in South Kesteven, Lincolnshire, on the A607 road about 6 miles north-east of Grantham. It is recorded in Domesday Book as Carletune, and its parish church of St Nicholas is the village's principal historic monument. The church includes Norman fabric, a tower partly rebuilt in 1632, and a notable early 14th-century stained-glass window known as the Newmarch window.
