Mainfonds in three videos: ballooning, local skies and the Charente

A France 24 report, a regional news clip and a stratospheric aerostat flight connect Mainfonds to its ballooning culture.

FRANCE 24 presents a week around the European Hot Air Balloon Cup at Mainfonds, placing the gathering in the wider Charente setting rather than treating the village as a generic aerial backdrop. The clip is useful for understanding why the local event became a regional draw and for seeing the scale implied by dozens of balloons and international crews. Published in 2021, it documents that edition only; it cannot confirm a future date, public access or flights.

France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine's short 2017 report is a concise record of the European balloon competition at Mainfonds. Its description identifies the 20th edition, dozens of balloons and competing crews, making it a regional-news snapshot of the event's public presence. At under a minute it is an introduction, not a history of the village or a current programme; check the organizer's latest notices before planning around balloon launches.

E Space Aero's one-minute clip is a different angle on the local aerostat connection: its title and description identify a stratospheric flight from Mainfonds for CNRS. That makes it a specific technical flight record rather than a tourist flight offer or a general event trailer. It shows the range of aerostat work associated with the place, but does not establish whether visitors can attend or whether a similar operation is scheduled again.
