Ronneby in three films: church, town walk and wreck
Three distinct videos introduce Ronneby's historic church, present-day streets and the medieval Gribshunden wreck off the archipelago.
These three short films approach Ronneby at different scales. “Heliga Kors kyrka i Ronneby,” produced by Blekinge Museum, is a reconstruction of the church’s building phases. Rather than a general tourism clip, it focuses on how the landmark at the edge of Bergslagen developed over time, giving a visitor a reason to look closely at the church fabric and its place in the old centre. The second film, “Sweden, walking tour of Ronneby,” follows streets through the town and offers a present-day ground-level impression; it complements the historic account with a sense of how the river town feels on foot. Finally, “Gribshunden – ett unikt vrak,” from Södertörn University, points offshore to the late-medieval shipwreck associated with Ronneby’s archipelago and the Danish king Hans. It is a brief introduction, not a substitute for an exhibition or a complete account of the archaeological work. Together the selection moves from a surviving building, through the current streetscape, to a maritime discovery beyond the town. Check local visitor information for current access to the church and exhibits.
