Kaarina on foot: a town walk east of Turku

A 2022 walking tour offers a view of Kaarina's urban centre in a municipality that also reaches toward the archipelago.

Kaarina lies just east of Turku, but it is not simply an extension of the larger city. Its municipality includes several neighbourhoods and former local centres, with urban streets giving way to fields, woodland and the archipelago coast. This August 2022 walk is a focused look at the built-up centre; it helps set the scale before a visitor chooses whether to explore further.

For a broader visit, the ruins of Kuusisto Castle and the coastal landscape offer a different chapter from the everyday town streets. They require a separate plan and are not part of every central walk. Use the video as a visual orientation, then check current bus routes, local attraction access and seasonal services. Kaarina's closeness to Turku makes a combined itinerary possible, but leave enough time for the separate places that make up the municipality.
