Uddevalla in three local films: the waterfront, shell banks and suffrage walk

Three checked films follow the Strandpromenaden toward Gustafsberg, explain the ancient shell deposits and introduce a museum-led walk on local voting rights.

Visit Uddevalla published this 3-minute-15-second film on 15 August 2016. Its description follows presenters Daniel and Emil Norberg to Gustafsberg, with one taking the archipelago boat and the other using Strandpromenaden. It is a friendly orientation to two ways of reaching the old seaside resort, not a current boat timetable. Verify seasonal departures and the path’s present condition before setting out.

Bohusläns Museum published this 8-minute-53-second film on 2 June 2020; its description credits Uddevalla Filmförening and says museum educator Jan Uddén explains the shell banks and their remains from marine life about 10,000 years ago. The film adds geological context to a walk at Kuröd. The small shell-bank museum is seasonal, and protected deposits must not be disturbed, so check opening dates and stay on marked routes.

The museum’s first 9-minute-24-second episode in “Uddevalla – en rösträttspromenad” was uploaded on 19 March 2025. Its description introduces a historical walk at Margretegärdeparken with archaeologists Christina Toreld, Kristina Lindholm and Jienny Gillerstedt, focusing on local suffrage activists and equality. This is one instalment in a six-part series and a thematic route, not a complete general town tour. The upload date is not the filming date.
