Tidaholm through three local films: the town walk, Vulcanön and the 1875 fire

Three verified films introduce Tidaholm's twelve-stop town walk, its museum island and a carefully remembered chapter of Vulcan's history.

REC116's verified 38-second trailer, published 16 November 2020, introduces a documentary miniseries about a twelve-place walk through Tidaholm. Its description explains that the project offered a phone-led alternative when the pandemic interrupted traditional guided walks. The municipality's own route also lists twelve historic stops, making this a useful preview, though the clip is a trailer rather than the full route. Check the current map and any guided-walk arrangements before setting out.

Tidaholms museum published this 26-second introduction on 28 June 2018. Its description places the museum and tourist office on Vulcanön in the Tidan and points across to Turbinhusön, a short walk away. That is useful orientation for a first visit to the former factory island; the short film is not a current opening notice. Verify today's museum and seasonal café hours separately.

The museum uploaded this 1-minute-48-second interview clip on 28 February 2025; its description says the interview with local historian Ingemar Karlsson was filmed in 2007. He recalls the Vulcan factory fire of 18 February 1875, in which 46 young women died. The subject is a human tragedy, not spectacle. Tidaholm's museum account provides the town-history context; the upload date should not be mistaken for the interview date.
