Three glimpses of Habo: painted church, town footage and local lives

A parish church, archival centre footage and the county museum's wide-ranging Habo history; three distinct, checked videos.

Commissioned by Habo pastorat and produced by Christer Smedberg, this 8:37 film takes Habo Church as its subject. It is the most direct visual preparation for a visit to the painted timber interior: look for the relationship between the galleries and the broad mural programme, then compare that overview with the church’s own guide and the details visible on site. The upload is dated 14 June 2020; it is a cultural-history introduction, not a live guide to opening hours.

This 31-second upload is a small archival fragment rather than a polished tourism film. Tollevision states that the 16 mm footage of Habo centre was captured by Gun Bjelke; it does not date the original filming, so the 1970s in the title should be treated as the uploader framing rather than an independently verified shoot date. The brief street-level view is useful precisely because it offers a different scale from church history and lets the viewer compare the old centre with the present railway settlement.

Jönköpings läns museum’s 46:14 film widens the story beyond one building. Its description says it follows people in Habo through work and leisure and touches on farming, gathering places, lighting manufacture, Vättern shipping and the spinning mill. Those strands match the historic separation between the old parish centre and the later station town. Published 17 February 2025, it is the richest contextual choice of the three; check the museum’s current visitor information separately.
