Sperlonga in three views: the old town, Tiberius’ villa and Torre Truglia

A 2026 walking tour, a museum director’s introduction to the archaeological site and a short Torre Truglia feature offer three distinct views of Sperlonga.

Prowalk Tours published this 1-hour-27-minute-19-second 4K walk on 17 January 2026; its description says the footage was filmed on 7 June 2025. The route moves through Sperlonga’s civic square, old lanes, gates, viewpoints, beaches, harbour and Torre Truglia. Its value is practical as well as scenic: viewers can see how the historic hilltop and the shore connect, and how much of the visit involves steps and changes of level. It is a visual preview, not a current transport or opening-hours notice, and its 2025 images cannot guarantee present beach conditions.

Published by Musei Nazionali Lazio on 17 February 2023, this three-minute-two-second introduction features archaeologist and museum director Cristiana Ruggini. The description recounts the 1957 discovery of the Villa of Tiberius and explains the site’s late-Republican beginnings, maritime terraces, fishponds and sculptures connected with episodes from the Odyssey, including Polyphemus and Scylla. Its institutional voice makes it a useful companion to the museum visit: it links the objects on display to the coastal setting where they were found. Mythological subjects here are ancient artworks, not evidence that the Odyssey took place at Sperlonga. Check the museum’s current visitor information separately.

This 57-second item, published on 9 August 2025 by Appunti di Storia dell’Arte, is titled “Torre Truglia a Sperlonga.” The listing provides no description, so the review stays within what can be verified: it is a very short, separately focused video about the tower rather than a complete town guide. That makes it a compact visual supplement to the long walking tour, which also passes the landmark, for viewers who want to isolate one feature of the headland. Use the municipality or official cultural information for the tower’s history and current access; a video title alone cannot establish either.
