Excideuil on film: castle towers, town walk and the Périgord landscape

Three different films introduce Excideuil’s castle, historic streets and the surrounding Périgord Vert.

Michel PERRIN acibel’s 4K film gives a visual overview of Excideuil and its setting in Dordogne. Its landscape emphasis pairs with the municipal walking route, which identifies the castle and civic sites on the ground. The elevated images make the castle’s position and the surrounding roofscape easier to understand, while the marked route adds context at street level.

France 3’s 2019 visit presents Excideuil through a local television report. It offers a guided introduction to the town and is a useful companion to the mairie’s newer heritage walk. The television report supplies a guided narrative rather than a quiet panorama, giving a different way to approach Excideuil’s surviving medieval centre.

Le grand voyage de Babar’s 2024 film describes Excideuil as a medieval town in the Périgord Vert. The travel perspective complements the aerial landscape and TV report with a visitor-oriented look at the old centre. The travel film offers a visitor’s impression of the old centre; compare its broad portrayal with the town’s walking route for specific stops.
