Karvia in three films: church heritage, the open mire and a wider Geopark

Three distinct views of Karvia: its church and museum yard, a walk in Kauhaneva, and the broader Geopark landscape.

The official Arts Route film focuses on Karvia's wooden church and the heritage yard behind its local museum. Its close views help orient a visitor to the 1798 church, the 1806 bell tower, the mid-nineteenth-century grain storehouse and the outdoor buildings. The film describes the museum collection and accessibility of the yard, but it is not a current opening-hours notice; check the local visitor information before planning an interior visit.

This independent 2025 field film visits Kauhaneva and Katikankanjoni in Kauhanevan-Pohjankangas National Park. It gives a visual sense of the open mire, forest and ravine landscape and follows the creator's own walk rather than presenting an official itinerary. The national park lies across the Karvia–Kauhajoki boundary. Trail conditions, seasonal access and services can change, so consult the park authority before setting out.

The Geopark's official promotional film places Karvia within the wider Lauhanvuori–Hämeenkangas region of landscapes, local people and cultural sites. It is a regional portrait, not a film devoted solely to Karvia, and works best as context alongside the local church and park films. Its production involved locations and participants across the Geopark; it should not be treated as proof that every scene was filmed in Karvia or as practical visitor guidance.
