Iitti in three frames: Hiidenvuori, the old church and Kimola Canal

Three distinct local views of Iitti: a Hiidenvuori visit, recent footage of the 1693 church and an aerial look at Kimola Canal.

Ilesbox’s 2011 video is titled “Iitin Hiidenvuori,” and its description identifies the hill on Hiidensaari and its height above the Kymijoki. It is an older, place-specific record of one of Iitti’s defining viewpoints. The municipality’s current trail information is more useful for access and conditions; the video should be watched as a dated visual companion, not a trail notice.

Sailor’s video “Iitin kirkko” was published in June 2025, and its description says it was filmed that month. It offers a recent visual record of the wooden church in the historic parish village, whose documented construction dates to 1693. It complements the municipality’s architectural history, but does not provide opening hours or guarantee that the church will be open for an unscheduled visit.

The title and description identify this March 2020 upload by ILMAKUVAUSKANAVA as an aerial view of Kimola Canal. It adds a broad spatial perspective to the canal story: the waterway is easier to understand as a connection among rivers, lakes and villages than as a single lock. The footage predates the 2020 recreational opening, so it should not be used to infer current navigation facilities or operating dates.
