Haapavesi on film: town, folk music and Villa Korkatti

Three distinct films introduce Haapavesi, its folk music festival and a visitor venue near the town. Check current services and opening times before travelling.

This older city-produced film is a broad introduction to Haapavesi, rather than a current visitor-service guide. The video page provides no description, so this review does not attribute particular scenes or claims to it. Its value is as a dated municipal portrait that can sit alongside the town’s current visitor information. Use it to place the name and local identity in context, then verify museums, transport, accommodation and opening hours with the municipality or visitor service before making plans.

The 2026 festival aftermovie offers a different angle: Haapavesi as a meeting place for folk and acoustic music. Its published description identifies the Haapavesi Folk Music Festival and names performers Teija Niku and Juha Yli-Kotila, with music by Teija Niku. This makes the film useful for understanding the festival’s contemporary cultural role and its musical focus. An aftermovie is a record of one edition, not a promise of the next programme, artists or dates; consult the festival’s own announcements for current details.

This 2017 television feature presents Villa Korkatti as a nature-side venue associated at the time with accommodation, events, meetings, catering and activities. That makes it a useful third perspective on the visitor economy beyond the town-centre and festival films. The video is several years old, however, and its service descriptions may have changed. The current visitor portal still lists Villa Korkatti among accommodation services, but visitors should contact the provider or check current local listings before relying on any specific facility or offer.
