Buckland, Surrey: A Domesday Village beneath the North Downs

Buckland is a village and civil parish in Mole Valley, Surrey, recorded in Domesday Book in 1086. Its name is generally understood to mean land held by charter, and the village retains a long rural history beneath the North Downs escarpment between Reigate and Dorking.
