A Guarda: The Sentinel of the Atlantic

Located at the southern tip of the province of Pontevedra, in Galicia, A Guarda is famous for Monte de Santa Trega. At its summit stands one of the most spectacular ancient hill forts on the Iberian Peninsula, founded in the 4th century BC, which grew into a significant settlement of several thousand inhabitants. The town faces both the sea and the Miño River, which forms a natural border with Portugal. Its cuisine is renowned for lobster and swordfish.
