Barnston is a village on the Wirral Peninsula in Merseyside, north-east of Heswall. It was formerly a township in Woodchurch parish and remained a small rural community for centuries before becoming more closely connected with the suburban growth of the wider Wirral. The village is noted for Christ Church and for its survival as a distinct historic settlement within an increasingly urbanised part of the peninsula.
