Fordstreet: a small Essex village on the River Colne

Fordstreet is a small village in Essex, within the civil parish of Aldham, lying on the A1124 and close to the River Colne just west of Colchester. Its setting by the river and old road gives it the character of a traditional route-side settlement in the Colne valley. Although tiny, the village preserves historic interest through Fordstreet Bridge, a Grade II listed brick bridge dating from around 1800, built with two round arches over the Colne.
