Carlton, Cambridgeshire: a small parish with Tudor associations

Carlton is a small village and civil parish in South Cambridgeshire, near the Suffolk border. Historically known as Carlton cum Willingham, it later became simply Carlton in 1974. Though small, it has notable historical interest through its association with the scholar and diplomat Sir Thomas Elyot, who died and was buried there in 1546.
