Abánades: Memory of the Alto Tajuña Front
Abánades is a small village in the province of Guadalajara, within the historic Señorío de Molina. Its medieval past is reflected in the Romanesque Church of San Pedro, dated between the late 12th and early 13th centuries. The village is also known for its connection to the Spanish Civil War front in the Alto Tajuña area in 1938, where trenches, shelters, and other remains have been preserved.
Population: around 60 inhabitants.
Highlights: The Romanesque church, Civil War historical remains, and the nearby Cueva de la Canaleja microrreserve.
